all of the CFEs -- including all of those early morning Saturday CFEs in the blazing sun -- are paying off. yesterday i completed the turtle trot 5K, arising at 6am to do so, a major hurdle for me, at 30:36! this is DANG good for the likes of me. i placed 7th out of 21 ladies in my age category. that sprint at the end clearly paid off. i pushed myself HARD, and am improving for certain. i completed my first river roots and ruts 5K in 35. i completed my second 5K, the Edison 5K, in 31.38. i completed Komen around the same time -- i just made that one and had to hop in -- and completed the turtle trot in 30:36. **happy dance**
i am excited about the everest challenge in Orlando in June.
am still struggling with food, hence my belly. i get arrogant and think i can return to indulging, i.e., OVER-indulging. moreover, i half-ass prepared my food last week, which resulted in some unsavory choices: wraps at jasons, pizza fusion + brownies, heavenly biscuit. (OK--that one i excuse, especially since i consumed a post 5K celebratory heavenly biscuit meal alongside our nutrition expert and head coach. la la la.) i need to return to hardcore avoidance of gluten and dairy, esp. cheese. cheese kills me. cheese + gluten = migraines. perhaps i am being a little hard on myself. my food consumption is not as unsavory as most, but it's unsavory nonetheless, and my timing is poor. i've been fighting serious lady time related ailments. my lady time *is* good: i'd rather be off the junk and experiencing genuine lady time, but have been hurting since last Wednesday. i consequently should have been more rigid about my food consumption. thank goodness my lady time is nearly over. my point? i'm going to start tracking my food again. i just made paleo pancakes for lunch. eric said that of all the food that came out of the paleo challenge, paleo pancakes are his favorite. :) we are making grassfed beef burgers and salad for dinner. mine will be sans bun. :)
