am really enjoying the delicious Gruyère cheese i purchased from whole foods on Sunday. i don't think i could or want to give up cheese. however, i have given up the not so good for me cheese, i.e., shredded cheese, heavily processed cheese, etc. i am sticking to the less processed, high quality, aged (or fermented), high fat and high protein variety with low levels of casein, e.g., goat cheese, dubliner, gouda, etc. For some cheese 411, go to http://www.marksdailyapple.com/cheese-unhealthy/
i also am digging the raw, fermented, plain European yogurt. it has an incredibly high protein content and goes well with nuts and fruit.
i like to eat something really decadent every once in a while, like a piece of cake, creme brulee, cupcake, or brownie. i also really like honey, which is still "sugar." honey unfortunately has 33 percent more calories than sugar, making it something that i should indulge in irregularly, rather than daily. woe is me.
i am realizing that my biggest downfall is eating out with my mister. is v problematic for me. wraps, taco shells, sushi rice, legumes, and other offensive foods tend to sneak in. :( what's a girl who wants to live a balanced, disease free life to do?
