i wish the organic label ensured/required organic farmers to humanely treat and slaughter their livestock. did you know that chickens and turkeys (foul) are not considered livestock, and therefore are not covered under the ethical slaughter of livestock legislation? not that it matters too much. the legislation is largely ignored by the industry and those who are supposed to enforce it. :(
buying 100% healthy veggies and fruits is challenging: most farmers markets are not even open during the week, and whole foods is far away. unfortunately l feel suspicious of the entire food industry, as should most people. some organic products are not so healthy, especially those products owned by huge conglomerates. greed makes people do bad, underhanded things. I do feel very good about the grassfed beef i bought from the farmer in Bradenton after further investigation. i am awaiting an email from his daughter about how and where they are slaughtered, but from what i know, he is ethical. more to come on that front later. that was my lighter note. :)
sprints good. pilates good. light CFE good. snatches good. food good = pretty damn good, Larry.

Jane: kudos for all of your work re: paleo, organic, Food Inc, etc etc. For what it's worth: re: the Christopher egg guy/660 O3 'gf' (I think it's safe to say they're 'gf') eggs: Mk and I called and left msgs for him- he called her back to say 'the demand is just not here'....it is CLEAR to me that YES, THE DEMAND IS HERE- but this guy needs to hear about it. If not in his flipping store, then OURS....any comment/thoughts?? I am following up on your Friday night Food Inc party which seems to have certainly got some folks thinking/commenting on FB.....
here's a suggestion for the gf beef: a little S&P and throw that bad boy on the GRILL. Wrap in lettuce, and ENJOY :)
Thanks, Sarah. I am going to call various grocery stores about the eggs. Am going to inquire into grass fed EVERYTHING. We need to talk about this tonight at the paleo meeting.
