dos-dos, day 2, part deux

Day 2

"Us women, we have a voice. and its LOUD." --one of my lovely students

2day i ate b-fast late; b-fast was more like lunch in terms of timing. so at 3p i needed to eat another meal, especially before my pilates class. i heated my fresh broc w lemon and chicken from last night. tasted great last night, but this afternoon? not so much. i nearly gagged. barely took two bites, wanted to hurl, and threw it away, container and all. don't know why i felt so nauseous. had the meat gone bad? was my lack of sleep to blame? or both? i had to resort to nuts. i can't perform when hungry. is better for me to eat right before a wod then run on empty. alas, the nuts didn't hold me; i felt like hurling throughout the wod. i slogged through that bastard. was shocked and disappointed that i didn't win for most time tonight. damn you Stacey, stealing my thunder! was disappointed in my lackluster performance, but felt good that i finished despite the ick.

i forced myself to fresh market after c-fitting to pick up some alternative protein; i bought 1 lb of shrimp. couldn't find the elusive sugar and salt free salsa. i think it's a myth. i picked up some larabars for when i'm in a pinch, like today. i ate one on the way home to settle my stomach. the chocolate coconut chew, which contains dates, almonds, walnuts, unsweetened cocoa powder and unsweetened coconut, is not so bad.

today i stuck with the paleo, which is awesome, but didn't eat enough calories or protein. my solution? to bed early! am going to hit the proverbial hey in an hour, at 10:30 ish, which is early for me. i'm going to get up on the early side, have a good breakfast, and make lunch and snack for my 11 to 7p shift, and then to crossfit for that gnarly fn WOD, shiz in my pants! that should be it's name. shiz in my pants.

Per Robb Wolf we woman are allowed the cocoa chocolate and a little red wine everyday. Try the 90% Lindt its really good esp w/almond butter. The salsa is over in the corner of the produce section at Fresh Market is very delicious.
